In this article is attached an excel strategy map template designed by hybrid accountant for small business owners and modern business managers. What is a strategy map?

A strategy Map is a business strategic tool used to ensure that company’s efforts are properly directed.  It is a diagram that represents strategic goals being pursued by an organization.

A strategy map is a visual representation of the popular balanced scorecard that we all love and use. It strives to show the causative relationships between; a mission statement and business objectives Please kindly feel free download this free strategy map excel template and adjust to suit the need of your organization.

I have been using this tool for a while now to help improve strategy execution for my clients as research has over time shown that people tend to do more when they are constantly visually reminded to take positive action.

I am sharing this for free as part of my commitment to share 31 useful knowledge (one per day) this month of May – my month of birth.

How to use strategy map

You can use this strategy map as you so desire including the few points listed below.

• Meeting: meetings are generally more fruitful and effective when visuals are judiciously used to cleverly pass a message that would otherwise be cumbersome.
• Stickers: you can do simple things like printing the strategy map for your workers to paste it in their work areas and notice boards.
• Annual report: depending on the nature of accounts you are required to prepare, you can include the this in your financial statement.
